FordyceFusion partners Bruce Fordyce and Iain Morshead share a joke as Bruce hands over Iain’s prize for winning the 50+ category at the 2019 Skukuza 21 km

Iain Morshead

Far less well known than his famous partner, Iain nevertheless has a remarkable record in endurance sport spanning more than 4 decades. An active participant in triathlon, duathlon, kayaking and running, Iain has an array of national, state, and provincial titles, on the road, track and at cross country.

Meeting Arthur Lydiard (the famous New Zealand Olympic coach) in his early teens ignited an interest in the art and science of training and triggered what would become a lifelong pursuit of how to optimise genetic potential.

Iain considers himself genetically “un-gifted”, so over the years, spent an inordinate amount of time investigating and experimenting with a wide range of training philosophies, but it was only by applying the running genius of Bruce Fordyce that he was able to consistency run close to his genetic potential.

“We are all gifted the opportunity to become the champion of our own genetics.”
Iain Morshead

The privilege of receiving personalised guidance from Bruce was not lost on Iain, others need to have this opportunity too…the seed of FordyceFusion was sown.

Personalised training “The Fordyce Way” became a reality.

Iain works closely with Bruce to help you make the most of your running potential.
